Eight years looking at payroll from the inside

I am a senior consultant specialised in SAP HCM Payroll and SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll, with more than eight years on implementation, evolution and support projects for large, operationally complex organisations in Spain, Portugal, Argentina and Latin America.

Payroll is my core specialisation, complemented by the design of integrations between Employee Central and ECP: data model, replication and end-to-end EC to ECP processes. On the technical side I work with payroll-related ABAP to analyse, debug and specify developments — calculation functions, BADIs, interfaces and Z-reports — and to coordinate them with the team that builds them. What I care about is a solution that is robust and maintainable, and risks that surface early, while they are still cheap to fix.

I have seen the payroll cycle from several angles: operations technician, key user on a Nexus HR to PeopleSoft migration, SAP functional consultant, and in-house owner of a global payroll operation covering eight countries at Tenaris. I have lived in Madrid since 2023 and work remotely, with occasional in-person meetings.
